The town was already populated during the Early Bronze Age (1800-200 B.C.), it was part of the Venetian Republic and later it was dominated by Austria until 1859. It is guarded by a medieval castle with well-preserved crenellated walls and cylindrical towers, it is known as “the city of Chiaretto” from the name of the typical rosé wine, fresh and aromatic, characteristic of the Valtenesi land, which is made from grapes of the vine Groppello.
Moniga is the ideal destination for beach tourism, because in its territory and in the nearby Manerba are the best beaches of Lake Garda, little corners of paradise where you can spend pleasant days sunbathing and diving.
