Calvisano is a quiet village in the Po valley full of spring water fountains and close to the river Chiese, a summer destination of many bathers. Among the many sites of historical and cultural interest, it is worth visiting the Dominican monastery of the fifteenth century with valuable paintings of considerable size, its cloister and the church of San Silvestro with paintings and frescoes by Romanino, Moretto and Tiepolo school.
Rich in traditions and folklore, Calvisano offers local craft fairs and festivals where you can taste typical products of the region. Since late 70s Calvisano is famous also for Agroittica, one of the world greatest producers of "Calvisius caviar", most requested also by Russian gourmets. Another pride of the village is the Rugby team which won since 70s a lot of league titles, trophies and cups.
